About Diaminding
Diaminding is a collection of informal essays about leveling up in tech, especially product management, as an individual contributor (IC). It focuses on professional skills cross-training, managing work-life balance, and achieving sustainable high performance.
I write to clarify my thinking, refine my communication, and operate more effectively. Publishing my thoughts invites constructive feedback and hopefully helps others. If my writing provides value to others, I’m happy to capture some of it. That said, increasing my clarity across functions and operational effectiveness is reward enough for me.
By reading Diaminding, you’ll get a candid perspective on what works for me navigating my career in tech. Take what’s useful, disregard what’s not, and decide what works best for you.
About Me
Hey 👋🏾, I’m George, a product manager based in Berlin, Germany.
In 2015, I realized I had no desire to manage people at someone else’s company. Instead, I committed to becoming a high-performing senior IC. Today, I’m a senior product manager working toward a product lead or staff product manager role. Once I achieve that, I don’t intend to move further up the ladder as an employee.
My approach to work is simple: I aim for the highest performance I can achieve without becoming emotionally attached to outcomes. I always have a reasoned perspective on what my company should do to succeed, but I’m comfortable adapting if leadership takes a different direction — as long as it doesn’t cross my ethical boundaries.
